ATTENTION WINTER BRIDES! If you are going berserk while looking up on the internet for bridal wear inspiration then Manish Malhotra is the only person you need to look up to. From intricate detailing to use of royal colour scheme, Manish Malhotra's collection at ICW 2014 was titled ‘Portraits'. As the name suggests, this collection aimed to capture a girl in her most intense and beautiful moments. It is his belief that when a girl becomes a bride, she is the portrait of perfection and that is exactly why Manish's collection focused on element of antique in the outfits.
Alia Bhatt walked down the ramp in a red full-sleeved choli and lehenga that has a beautiful flare and intricate golden embroidery. She did not wear any jewelry and yet managed to race quite a few number of hearts at the show. Accompanying her was Aditya Roy Kapoor who was dressed in wide bottom pajamas and a cream coloured bandhgala.
Design Inspiration From The Runway
Heavy use of gold dust and beige hues highlighted the collection. The outfits has a beautiful mix of modernity and tradition. Kashmiri zari work adorned the bridal outfits. The ramp was lit up with dim lanterns to await the maestro's designs. He has also used handpicked jewelry from Shree Rajmahal Jewellers to deck up his brides. Special naths, mang tikkas and neck pieces were used in this collection to dress up the brides for the ‘Portraits'. Well what more can we say, he truly is the master of bridal wear!
