The eternally evolving & constantly changing, Manav Gangwani, after a year’s hiatus, once again enthralled Delhi’s fashionistas with his Couture Collection titled “Seven” inspired by the very essence of his life.
In keeping with Manav’s unique style, the garments were gloriously embroidered. His collection had a beautiful use of Swarovski crystals which were coupled with pearls, gota & chikankari embroidery. intricate thread-work is a sure winner for me. Lilac, golds and ivory created statement on the ramp and are in trend for the brides of this season. Manav's collection displayed various fabrics and colours that surprised me, pleasantly. Talking about his inspiration in creating these masterpieces, Manav Gangwani says, “My years in this industry have made me realize that the most important person in making me who I am is “I”. It is my faith in myself & in my passion for designing that has shaped the course of my life.”
Techniques from long forgotten era were weaved together, this collection takes an unexpected turn for the ethereal. Floaty layers, delicate embroidery, slender flares and majestic gowns like dresses, this is definitely a collection for the modern bride who wants something beautiful but edgy and unconventional.
Manav also unveiled brand Manav Gangwani’s new identity - the “MG Crest”. With 70 models on the ramp & 30 models (off the ramp welcoming guests), this show was the India’s largest single designer Couture Show. Translating his 7 Virtues into 7 colors, Manav has used shades of pink to depict hope, yellow to depict faith, a gentle lavender to depict forgiveness, the purity of ivory to depict honesty, the brilliance of aqua depicts strength, the boldness of gold to depict courage & finally the luminosity of green to depict loyalty!
More power to Manav Gangwani.
