Designer Asha & Gautam Gupta further diversified their brand Vinayak Couture by launching a bespoke handloom collection. The much-anticipated collection was launched in the classy Cavalli café, with city’s top-notch editors, bloggers and stylists. Their latest endeavor is nothing like what you expect to see from a handloom collection. The collection is a perfect example of classic meets the contemporary. The designer duo has given a fresh approach to the good old art of handloom. Mixing the golden art with the charm of beautiful color and motifs, their latest collection is also an ode to local artesian of Banaras.
Made solely by local artists in the city of Banaras, the collection boasts of pure handloom tussar, banarasi silk and jute net and is embellished with unique parsi gara, zardozi and kalamkari. Breaking the myth that handloom saree’s are a serious affair, designer duo has tried to give the great handloom art a fun and young appeal, by also developing rare motif designs that bring out the charm of this attire.
The launch of Asha & Gautam’s handloom collection was a close affair yet perfect just like the collection.
