DIY Hair Mask for Good Hair Days

By

When you run your fingers through your hair, all you can feel is dryness, roughness and no shine or softness, don’t panic your way to the salon for a super-expensive hair spa. The salon hair spas are surely effective but they still have a deal of chemicals to make you and your hair feel better quickly. Instead, opt for a DIY option which is natural, inexpensive and definitely very conditioning.
A hair mask can be made at home using simple ingredients from the refrigerator and your kitchen. The two hair masks which I religiously follow as a part of my hair care routine are:

1. Egg+ Olive Oil+ Lemon
Preparation:
Take an egg white. Not using the yellow part will result in no smell. Mix a teaspoon of Olive Oil in it. You can take any brand for example Figaro. If your scalp is oily in nature, mix the juice of one lemon to this mixture and stir the three ingredients well.

Application:
Divide your hair into two parts from the center and start applying the mixture to the roots using your hands or a brush. Now divide each part into sub-parts and make sure you don’t skip any section. Leave the mask on for 50-60 minutes and rinse off with your shampoo and preferably cold water.

2. Yoghurt+ Honey+ Lemon
Preparation:
Take 2 table spoons of yoghurt in a bowl (increase/decrease the quantity according to the length of your hair). Mix one teaspoon of honey and juice of one lemon in it. Stir till the mixture becomes smooth.
Application:
Divide the hair into two parts from the center for convenience. Now pick out one strand at a time and
spread the mixture from the root to the tip of the hair. Once done, tie your hair up in a bun. Leave the mask on for 30-40 minutes and rinse off well with your shampoo.

Additional Tip:
Whenever you make a DIY hair mask, to double its effectiveness, take an old towel and dip it in hot
water. Squeeze out the excess and wrap that towel around your hair. This locks in the hair mask and all you are left with it is soft, manageable hair which you are going to love.
