Have you ever thought of wearing a cape with a pair of ripped jeans for the festive party season? Be it Diwali card parties or get together or BYOB parties, you'll be surprised to know how versatile a cape can be in your daily mix. Finding a right versatile separate is essential and I couldn't be more happy to find a red carpet inspired piece at one of my favorite designer, Anu P.D's style studio in Hauz Khas. I teamed the cape with a body suit, ripped denims and some style accessories. You too can style it over a cocktail dress, a flowy jumpsuit or just about anything!
The devil lies in the details and that is why the alluring embroidery on the cape makes this piece a head turner! I am not sure as to how many of us intentionally like to add drama to our outfits, but teaming a cape with a very regular wear can really up your fashion game. There are some beautiful occasions for which I am able to create an outfit within minutes without having second thoughts. Wearing this beautiful bright coloured cape with my most worn denims is a balance mix of festive, casual, formal and chic. A patent black heels act as the ying to the cape’s very sophisticated yang.
I think a lot of girls worry that a cape is this dramatic, very niche item that wouldn't blend in with other pieces in your wardrobe- but trust me, it is just not true! Capes are very very versatile and that's what Anu's design theory is all about. She wants more and more fashionistas to adorn versatile separates which are a breeze to style. This look is definitely up my ally.
Don't forget to tell me what you thought of this look and what are you going to wear this festive party season?
