1. Not cleaning your makeup brushes regularly
So many of us are guilty of this. Nobody really likes the brush cleanising process but you really need to pay a heed to your dirty brushes. Don't forget that a dirty brush can lead to skin breakout and pimples and they also affect the way your makeup appears. Here's my DIY video on how you can easily clean and wash your brushes.
2. Matching foundation on the back of your arm
Now that you have read this, test your foundation shade on your hands or best try it on your jawline for a perfect match.
3. Not having a concealer routine
Your dark circles will stand out no matter how nicely you do your makeup but forget the proper concealer application. The inverted triangular application will help brighten the are under your eyes and hep you look your best. Try my concealing routine for best results.
4. Wearing waterproof mascara everyday
Unless you are going to a place where you sweat too much or there is rain, avoid wearing waterproof mascara as it only ends up drying your lashes.
5. Not using primer for your eye makeup
I personally know a lot of friends who don't wear primer or realize the need to wear a base makeup for their eyes. Your glitter eyeshadow in particular will stick if you apply a base. Check out my eye makeup tips and tricks for beginners.
6. Lash curling with your mascara on
This will ruin your already applied mascara and the curler will stick your lashes makes them look out of order.
7. Adding nail paint remover to older lacquers (seriously why)
The reason why your nail paints don't stay has got a lot to do with your nail paints themselves. Avoid using nail paint remover to get your bottle kicking, instead use nail polish thinner.
8. Saving your old makeup
Every makeup has an expiration date! I know you love that eyeshadow palette that your cousin got you from you some several years ago, but please throw it.
9. Not setting your foundation
You must have mastered the art of foundation application but you really need to learn as to how to set your base. Setting it up correctly will lead to a much smooth look of your face. Here's a tutorial for you all.
10. Not applying makeup in right kind of lighting
The golden rule is to put your face in not just a well-lit room but to opt for a space that has lighting similar to the place you are heading to. Follow this rule for your foundation routine and blush on for best results.
