Coconut oil and Olive oil both are very useful for your health, skin and in your weight loss management! People always confuse both in terms of fats, calories and advantgaes and are not able to decide which one is better. Ok for the starters, both contain healthy fats known as monounsaturated fatty acids or MUFAs which can lower total cholesterol levels. MUFAs help you to improve insulin sensitivity and it also helps with weight loss. Although, Coconut oil does contain more saturated fat, it's primarily lauric acid. Olive oil contains significantly more monounsaturated fats and olive oil offers more health-beneficial MUFA bang for your buck.
A rich diet in MUFA has also been shown to reduce belly fat, and according to the a report on Popsugar, Coconut oil can reduce the waist size. However, both the oils are best for salad dressings and sauces. Olive oil gets our vote if you want to stir fry or heat your veggies/meat and you can replace your butter intake with coconut oil. Here's a chart from Popsugar that will give you a better overview of the two oils-

If we compare both oils for the weight loss then both alone will not work out for you. A few small weight-loss studies have shown that coconut oil can reduce waist size as it is slightly lower in calories, so over time, that little difference could add up.
But do remember to use both oils in moderation. To yield long term benefits, choose unrefined virgin coconut oil. How about some french fries in olive or coconut oil :P?
