Day 1 At The Amazon India Fashion Week + Outfit of The Day

Every fashion week is always exciting, chaotic and super duper busy! For those who aren't too well versed with how things go about, well there is a lot of planning and energy that goes into the whole process to make sure everything works out as per the schedule even for us bloggers. This time I celebrated the modern Indian theme on Day 1 at Amazon India Fashion Week AW16 being a #popxosuperblogger. I channeled my #IndiaModern vibes with my outfit, attended back to back shows, spotted hint of India on runway and picked out my favorite street style trends. Here's what my Day 1 looked like...

The AIFW Autumn-Winter 2016 is being held at the larger than life Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. Having a not so usual stadium as a spectacular new location is going to elevate the AIFW Autumn-Winter 2016 showcasing. Keeping the #IndiaModern theme in mind I chose to sport a flared long skirt with Persian prints from W for Woman to add movement to my outfit. I opted for a bold coloured crop tee from Forever21 to add a beautiful contrast against the grey skirt. I also wore my all new Adidas Originals Tubulars, creating a minimal sleek style. After some posing I was off to exploring the venue in all it's galore.

I have absolutely loved Amazon India's idea of sprucing up the fashion week with the #IndiaModern theme. It is about celebrating the classics by mixing them up with retro basics, it is about pairing a crop t-shirt with a long skirt and sneakers or re imagining a traditional jewel with a western gown! Here I took a close up short of a vintage jewel piece that belonged to my mother!

The art installation at AIFW is worth checking out. I love the colours and personally think that it is a great photo op as well. Right after checking out designer stalls in the exhibit area, I headed towards the cold pressed juice stall and picked out my favorite flavor from the Raw Pressery juice collection!

In between strolling around the venue, I spotted some street style that showcased a hint of Indian fabrics, designs and aesthetics truly living up to the #IndiaModern theme. Here are my 2 personal favorites from the lot. Amanda from Style Coquettes‬ on the left and Bhawna on the right.

Lovetobag a bespoke accessory and bag brand houses products that have a flavor of India with an international appeal. I had a great time checking out their collection that boasts of embroidery, prints, metal fittings and fabrics.

And there I was, holding a placard and busy getting clicked for my street style until I moved on to my favorite show presentation by Hemant & Nandita.

Dark blooms, gold foil and bohemian silhouettes by Hemant and Nandita happened to be my favourite runway presentation from Day 1. Silk and bomber jacket was an absolute winner for me! I loved how their collection displayed an essence of India with their jewels. The statement neckpieces reminded me of rani haar styles and choker sets evidently seen in the majestic Indian dressing up game! Chic, isn't it?
