Best Homemade Scrubs for Oily Skin || Natural Ways To Treat Oily Skin

Oily skin is the most welcoming skin, for acne, zits and breakouts and no matter what you do, acne just don't stop popping up in your face. Every skin type has natural oils which are actually good for the skin, but when excess sebum oil surface the skin, then they get prone to acne. Even your lifestyle, food habits are equally responsible for acne breakout and the best way to deal with it is to maintain a good skin care regime and healthy diet. 1. Strawberry, oats, and honey scrub:




This scrub has three powerful ingredients that would help in reducing the oiliness as well as remove the dead skin cells, dirt, and grime. Strawberry are a good source of Vitamin C that reduces excess sebum in the skin, destroys collagen, fights free radical and makes the skin healthy. Whereas honey has Vitamin B3 that hydrates the skin and keeps acne at bay and oatmeal is a natural exfoliant that will clean the deep pores, make your skin soft, smooth and radiant.


How to make the scrub:
Blend 5 strawberries, 1 tablespoon of honey and oats in a blender and make a thick paste. Smear it over your face and leave it for 15 minutes, then with wet fingers, rub your face in circular motion and rinse off with cold water so that your pores are closed.

2. Tomato and sugar scrub:




Tomatoes help in reducing the size of the pores and indirectly reduce the excessive oiliness on your face. Along with removing the pimple scars, marks it has antioxidants that make your skin youthful. Sugar retains the moisture content and removes excess oils from the pores.


How to make the scrub:

Extract the juice out of the tomato and mix it with 2 teaspoons of sugar. Gently scrub it over your face and neck area for 2-3 minutes and then wash it with cold water. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week, but never over do it.  
Tip: If you don't have brown sugar, you can use the white sugar, but make sure you rub your face gently as harsh scrubbing can remove natural oils from your face.

3. Honey, olive oil, and brown sugar scrub:




The ultimate aim of the scrub should be to shed the dead cells and remove excess oil from the face. Honey and olive oil, remove excessive sebum from your face and unclogs the pore whereas brown sugar cleanses the pores and keeps the skin hydrated.


How to make the scrub:
Take equal parts of honey and olive oil (1 teaspoon) and mix 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Smear it over your face and gently scrub in a circular motion from chin to head, in the upwards direction.
4. Cucumber, sugar, and lemon scrub:
The acne marks can sometimes cause irritation and give burning sensation, for all those times, cucumber is your life savior. It has cooling properties that would reduce the acne redness in your face, and the skin tightening property will tighten the pores which would avoid clogging of pores. Lemon has the antibacterial and antifungal property that heals acne and absorbs excessive sebum.

How to make the scrub:

Blend raw cucumber and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, add to this mixture 1 teaspoon of sugar and smear it over your face and neck. Then start scrubbing your face for 1-2 minutes and wash with cold water. Pat dry and then moisturise your face with aloe vera gel or any gel-based lotion.
5. Banana, oats, milk and honey scrub:


Now this scrub must sound like your breakfast, but we ask you to apply it over your face to treat your oily skin and acne. Banana is an excellent exfoliator that is used for oil control and destroys acne causing bacteria. The presence of Vitamin E, K helps in a glowing skin that is a must needed for a dull, greasy face. Raw milk will take out excess oil from your face, tighten the pores, remove dead skin cells, also oats act as a good oil pullover from  the pores and honey protects the skin from acne and pimples.


How to make the scrub:
Mash a banana, 2 teaspoons of milk, 1 tablespoon of oats and 1 teaspoon of honey in a bowl and then scrub it over your face, neck and leave it for a while. Rinse with cold water and keep exfoliating twice a week.
Make sure you don’t scrub more than three times a week and even take care about the way you scrub, always scrub from chin to head (upwards direction) and be gentle with your face.
