According to Mumbai Mirror reports, Before getting married to Sakshi Dhoni had a perfect love story that sadly ended on a tragic note. A source close to the production house Dhoni was madly in love with a girl in his early 20's. While Dhoni was still in his struggling phase, trying to find a place in the India XI, Dhoni found his soulmate in Priyanka Jha.

They both want to spend their lives together, but a car accident ended Priyanka's life.  While Dhoni was busy in matches and test series and  was busy winning laurels and making it big in the world of cricket, his happiness was short-lived when he returned from his test series and found out about Priyanka's tragic death. He was not in a good phase for one year.

But giving up was not a Dhoni's style. He again found his place back in the second match of the ODI series against Pakistan in Vishakhapatnam in 2004-2005. Dhoni found his soulmate again in Sakshi Singh Rawat and they got married on July 4, 2010 in Dehradun. According to various reports, Tiger Sroff's girlfriend Disha Patani will play the role of Priyanka Jha in movie.
