2016 seems to be the year of splits and heart breaks. After Director Priyadarhani's  bitter split from wife and popular Malyalam Actress Lissy Laxmi, here comes news of another shocking split, South Superstar Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya has separated from her husband of 6 years Ashwin Ramkumar. According to reports in a leading daily, Soundarya has filed for divorce at the family court. Reportedly, the couple’s relationship had been in troubled since a  few years now. And finally they have decided to go their separate ways. Soundarya got married to Ashwin, an industrialist in Chennai in 2010. They knew each other for four years before getting married. They also have a year ole son Ved,

As per reports , Rajinikanth tried his hand at saving his daughter’s marriage where he even stayed with her for a couple of weeks. But all in vain, for Soundarya and Ashwin seem to have moved far ahead in their own separate ways. 

As per speculations the couple has been going through a lot of misunderstandings since the past couple of years. Lack of understanding is said to be the main cause of split. Ashwin was from a Brahmin family and runs the family construction business . Soundarya and Aswin had met for the first time in a gym six years before they got married.Then after 5 years of friendship he proposed to her with a ring which was pre approved by Rajnikant himself. few years back Soundarya had quoted in an interview back in 2013 " Dhanush and my dad’s lifestyle is similar. My sister’s transition post marriage was thus easier. For me, even after three years, I am still adjusting as it is a different environment. ” Maybe this was the first sign of cracks building up in their relationship!

Rajnikant has two daughters , elder one is Aishwarya and younger one is Soundarya. Actor Dhanush is married to Rajnikant's elder daughter Aishwarya!
