Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were blessed with a baby boy Taimur in December last year. When people came to know that they named their son Taimur, there were mixed response on his name. Saif and Kareena are not on social media so they never talked about it. Recently, in an interview to TOI, Saif opened up on it and said,"My wife and I love the sound of it and we love its meaning. I am aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler—he was Timur, my son is Taimur, an ancient Persian name that means iron."

He also added,"Perhaps I should have added a disclaimer, as they do in the movies, that any resemblance to any person, living or dead, is purely coincidental."
