Battling it out with PCOS? Well then it's about time that you change your lifestyle and do it all healthy that you can. I won't dig deep down as to what PCOS really is and what greater things you can do to make sure that your body is responding in the best of health. I have in fact spoken to many of my friends to do this post and my dietician, details of which will be coming soon on the blog on the magic drinks that all ladies suffering with PCOS should consume. I am not giving you recipes but I want you to know that these 'spiced' natural drinks are good for your body and will not help cure PCOS but will help you keep a lot many other syndromes associated with it at bay. Here are some of my most recommended night time/early morning drinks to help you with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome.
#1 Fenugreek (methi seeds) & water
Soak your fenugreek or methi seeds in luke warm warm and leave it over night. Drink this water early in the morning empty stomach and one time before you call it a night. PCOS leads to unutilised insulin production that the tissues can't comprehend and hence obesity becomes prevalent. So consuming fenugreek leaves or seeds will help in maintaining normal insulin levels. Methi improves glucose tolerance in the body, which helps in weight loss.
When using the powder, make a warm, spicy and sweet concoction using 3 teaspoons of cinnamon in a cup of hot water. Because of the hormonal havoc & the syndrome, Insulin resistance happens in women that often leads to type 2 diabetes. Cinnamon is one of the best natural remedies for managing blood sugar levels to help prevent insulin resistance. Not only that, it also helps to regulate your menstrual cycles particularly if you’re dealing with heavy bleeding.
#3 Boiled Tulsi Water
Chew at least 10 leaves early in the morning on an empty stomach or consume boiled tulsi water on a regular basis and before you go off to sleep daily. Because the androgens are not utilised, the ovulation process does not take place. Also, the SHBG protein produced by liver is also pretty low. All this results into facial hair, acne and trouble in conceiving. Tulsi can control androgens and moderate insulin levels. On top of all this, it is proven antioxidant that benefits the skin.
