The seven day long dreamscape, India Couture week 2017 has just ended. The prolific week of events celebrated #ADecadeofCouture.
The events harboured immense talent, with fourteen different designers from all over India coming together to illustrate their version of the most grandiose and luxurious bridal couture outfits.
We were continuously awestruck with the amalgamation of glamour, poise, beauty, elegance and royalty that was displayed on stage.
Here we share with you some of our most favourite outfits from ICW 2017:
1. Dia Mirza
Dia mirza defined elegance and royalty as she walked down the "environmentally friendly" ramp for Anju Modi. The collection belongs to 'Sunheri khoti' which means Golden Chalet. Her outfit consisted of velvet purple and maroon, which was balanced perfectly with the light dupatta (scarf) and gold embellishments. Simple, yet noteworthy make up and impressive Rajasthani jewellery completed her look to perfection.
2. Ranveer Singh
Manish Malhotra's collection called a "Sensual Affair" aimed to break the quintessential bridal look. Who else would be more perfect to break molds than Ranveer Singh. This was by far the grand finale of grand finales! A larger than life runway to display Ranveer Singh owning the midnight blue sherwani. The elegance of the sherwani is highlighted further with the silver embellishments and bandh gala (closed neck) style. His look was completed with straight fit pants and black shoes.
3. Athiya Shetty
Athiya Shetty, in partnership with Shyamal and Bhumika proved that there is beauty in simplicity. She donned a beautiful, youthful and shimmering jacket style blouse with a black embellished lehenga (skirt). Her look was completed with a kundan chocker to compliment the plunging neck line and simple straight hair.
4. Alia Bhatt
They often say that you should save the best for last and my god was Alia best for us! We can not stop gushing over her look. Alia looked like an absolute princess as she graced the ramp for Manish Malhotra. She wore a heavily embellished top and a flared tulle lehenga with great confidence. The heaviness of her dress was balanced with her minimalist and fresh make up, which too made a statement. I think what really made this dress unique was the veil with the lehenga, which truly integrated the best of two major bridal cultures. We loved!
