The drive from Jolly Grant Airport to Dehradun is as picturesque as it can get. While one is still reveling in the beauty of the drive, less does one realize having traversed good 30 km to reach Antara Senior Living in Purukul, Dehradun. It feels a little hot by the city’s standards but the heat isn’t half as bad as Delhi’s for sure. Purukul, a village on the outskirts of Dehradun is home to Antara, an active senior living community by the Max India group. With the perfect blend of lifestyle, lifecare, and hospitality, one could discover a new chapter in the lives of our elderly in this beautifully curated niche eco-system.
I Diksha, from #TeamGuiltybytes will give you a download of what the experience is like from Antara and why is it time to consider a senior living community that could continue to live independently, with all their needs served.
As soon as we entered the property, team Antara welcomed us with their special drink, which was made by organic lemongrass, with a touch of mint and ginger. Right after that, we checked into our room and there we received a beautifully decorated plate with sweets. What a warm welcome indeed!!
One major highlight of the property is its interiors. They have beautiful, spacious rooms with breathtaking views. My naturally lit bedroom with extended balcony brought in the magic of the outdoors every single morning I woke up to. The living spaces at Antara have been tastefully done and one can tell that detailing has been given special attention. If someone loves nature and want to experience a large sun-filled well-ventilated living with lush green views, then Antara is what they need to look upon the Internet for their senior years.
A sumptuous dinner had amid soft music in the open dining area had me hit back to my room for a peaceful night’s sleep. I woke up at 6 only to discover the serene morning from my room's balcony.
This was followed by a Yoga session amidst all greens and a gorgeous weather and then I enjoyed an organic-healthy breakfast with a farm to fork concept. Antara Senior Living community proudly grows all its vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits in-house which adds to an overall health benefit. We then had a Reiki session with one of the club employees and then toured The Club and wellness centre.
The Club at Antara takes care of your entire entertainment quotient featuring a private theatre wherein films are screened as per the choice of the community members. The USP of the theatre seating lies in its chair that has a unique holding slot where one can put their drink and fix it according to their own temperature, now how cool is that! The Club also has The Creative Workshop, The Cards and Bridge room, The Reading Room and The Community Kitchen for potluck lunches and cooking workshops, and The Pool with a temperature of 30-32 degree along with a separate Antara Wellness Centre which includes The Spa.
After the Antara property tour #TeamGuiltyBytes headed straight to the lunch table that warmed our heart with GHAR KA KHANA serving. GHAR KA KHANA at Antara is served to their community on day-to-day basis and trust me, the food tastes beyond your imagination. Post lunch my sugar cravings were taken care of as well and I ended up enjoying the scrumptious nuts coated Kulfi ice cream and Gulkand Truffle from the house of Antara.
My short yet very effective stay at Antara introduced me to the concept of a well-developed Senior Living Community that often has a negative imagery associated with it. It is only when you yourself experience it, you realize that life, especially at Antara, features picturesque river valleys, clear star filled nights and warm, sunny days away from the hustle bustle of a city life that make for a comfortable environment to enjoy the second innings of one's life that too in a protected environment. Antara gives utmost importance to its members' medical care, caters for preventive health check-ups and provides on-call caregivers. With the availability of doctors, nurses and an ambulance with paramedics on the premises for emergencies, it only makes it a very favorable environment for the elderly who deserve a life of choice, and independence.

mumbai to Mahabaleshwar taxi innova
ReplyDeleteOnly a short distance far from Panchganga Temple is one of the city's must-visit goals, the Mahabaleshwar Temple. This excellent religious historic point is situated in Old Mahabaleshwar and dates the distance back to the sixteenth century. Covered in a profound air, this place of worship is said to be the habitation of Lord Shiva, who appears as a dim dark stone lingam. The look and feel of this sanctuary will surely set your spirits high for whatever is left of your day
