Preparations are on in full swing ahead of actress Sonam Kapoor and Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja’s wedding in Mumbai on May 8. The couple has been together for quite a few years. Their families released an official statement which read,
“From the Kapoor & Ahuja families, The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”

As per a report in a publication, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja were introduced to each other by their mutual friend Pernia Qureshi in 2014. Pernia was Sonam’s stylist then and was also good friends with Anand.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Anand Ahuja proposed to Sonam Kapoor within a month of their meeting and the two have been together since. Anand made the first public appearance with Sonam in 2016 at Akshay Kumar’s party for Hollywood star Will Smith. They have often been spotted together at events and parties and have even gone on family vacations together.
